Dr. Oancea’s work focuses on obtaining, enforcing, and defending his clients’ intellectual property rights as well as challenging intellectual property rights of third parties. His focus lies on patents and utility models. Furthermore, he regularly handles trademarks and designs.
Prior to becoming a patent attorney, Dr. Oancea studied technical physics at the Technical University of Munich as well as the Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris, whereby he specialized in renewable energies and semiconductor physics. During his studies, Andreas Oancea worked at renowned institutes and companies on various projects in the fields of surface physics, energy conversion, semiconductor technology, nanotechnology and automotive engineering. Subsequently, he developed a novel opto-acoustic imaging system for high resolution in-vivo visualization of tumor vasculature as a scientist at the Helmholtz Zentrum München. During this period of his career, Mr. Oancea was active at the Graduate School of Information Science in Health (TUM-GSISH), where he intensively engaged himself in medical technology. He was awarded a doctoral degree in electrical engineering for his work in 2013.
Andreas Oancea was an associate at a renowned Munich patent law firm for many years, at first as a patent attorney trainee, then as a German patent attorney (Patentanwalt) and European Patent Attorney. Thereby, Dr. Oancea served numerous global companies, including startups, mid-sized companies, and large corporations, and gained extensive (IP-) expertise, in particular, in the technical fields of medical technology, semiconductors and automotive technology.
Dr. Oancea is himself an inventor. In addition, Andreas Oancea has experience as a court-appointed expert in IP infringement proceedings.
Dr. Oancea is entitled to act as representative in IP matters not only before the European Patent Office and the German Patent Office, but also the German Federal Patent Court, the German Federal Court of Justice, and the Unified Patent Court.
